Taylor is a native of North Iowa and a graduate of Iowa State University. He began his career in the financial industry as a mortgage underwriter for one of the largest banks in the nation, where he helped hundreds of families modify their mortgages to avoid foreclosure. Taylor also served with honor in the United States Army Reserve as a Budget Analyst, attached to the 103rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command.
